My friend, Jen Singer, has a new book out called Stop Second-Guessing Yourself: The Preschool Years. Holy cripes, when I think back to those early years of parenthood, I immediately get that “being thrown to the lions” feeling.
As new parents, we know nothing, NOTHING! (That’s my best “Schultz from Hogan’s Heroes” impersonation). And once we get the kids past baby stage, it doesn’t really get any easier. There are new challenges – navigating the playdate scene, figuring out how to potty train, dealing with whiny preschoolers without throwing yourself off a cliff. The list goes on.
There are lots of books out there on child-rearing, but I trust Jen Singer, not only because she’s a friend, but because she knows we’re all in this together. She helps us navigate those frightening early years with grace and humor.
If you’re not familiar with Jen’s Web site, MommaSaid.net, skedaddle over there and check it out. She helps me realize that it’s ok; other moms are dealing with poop jokes and the constant calls for “Mom!” This isn’t The Donna Reed Show, people. It’s real life.
Buy Stop Second-Guessing Yourself: The Preschool Years on Barnes & Noble or Amazon. And … stop second-guessing yourself. That’s an order.

Jen also wrote Stop Second-Guessing Yourself: The Toddler Years (buy it on Barnes & Noble or Amazon). Jen, are you working on the teen years? Because I need that one right now.
